Pastor and his family came to MBC in 1997 after having served as a youth pastor in the southern part of Michigan for several years. He and his wife Ronda were married 1n 1988 and have three children.
During his tenure as pastor, our church has seen steady growth and has been through two major building programs. Pastor loves the personal aspect of the ministry, especially serving our congregation through pastoral care. In order to stay in contact with every aspect of ministry, he still rides busses, teaches children’s classes in the summer, and attends seniors’ fellowships. Pastor Haymaker believes strongly in the concept of “church family” as he endeavors to create an atmosphere of discipleship, fellowship, and mutual care and concern for one another.
Pastor’s stated mission is to impact our congregation by establishing personal relationships that will allow him to demonstrate by example what the walk of a believer should look like, thus opening up the opportunity for sharing God’s Word and how it applies to each individual life.
His love for evangelism is shown in an ongoing effort to create opportunities for the Gospel to be shared. A strong belief that evangelism is a way of life, not just a night of the week, drives his desire to create an atmosphere with an evangelistic spirit. A growing missions budget shows the congregation’s desire to get the Gospel to our world.
Pastor Haymaker’s life verse, John 5:30b, best sums up his approach to ministry: “I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
Pastor Josh Middaugh was first introduced to church through a basketball outreach at a local church in Charlotte, MI. It was there that he became involved in the youth group and came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ at a Christian camp in Wisconsin. Josh would later receive God’s calling upon him into the ministry during a youth service at his church. Josh would later attend Pensacola Christian College and graduate with his bachelors in Pastoral Ministry in 2007. That summer Josh married his wife Rebekah. They would later move to Pensacola where Josh would graduate with his Master of Divinity from Pensacola Theological Seminary in 2010.
Josh would eventually accept a position at a small country church in Byron MI where he served for 7 years. Josh accepted the call to come to Maranatha Baptist Church in August of 2018. Pastor Josh and Rebekah have a heart for young people and it’s their desire to see them rooted and grounded in the Scriptures, have a vibrant walk with Christ, and compassionately reach out to their peers with the gospel.
Josh and Rebekah have been married for over 11 years and are proud parents of 4 children: Sophia, Matthew, Gabriella, and Hannah.
